Opportunity

Upon joining the company, one of my first projects was to assume leadership of the company's digital acumen initiative, launched two years prior by the chief information and digital officer, with the goal of increasing employees' digital skills. At that time, the program consisted of an internal website with hundreds of LinkedIn Learning courses grouped into five digital capabilities that the company prioritized. A cross-functional team added new content (from LinkedIn Learning and internal subject matter experts) every 6 weeks, and a single-threaded owner managed over one hundred files to manually update available assets and execute tasks for every 6-week sprint.

Audience

The digital acumen program was open to all 70,000+ employees across the global enterprise.

Action

Based on an extensive learning needs assessment (partnering with division leads, subject matter experts for each of the prioritized digital capabilities, and learners across the globe), I proposed an overhaul to the program structure and execution.

Impact

After 16 successful releases throughout the following year (in 3 week sprints reduced from 6 weeks), the program had a 100% increase in employee engagement.
